    During a cold the inflammatory process results in the swelling of the nasal mucosa, blocked nose and increased mucus production. The hypertonic* sea water in Otrivin Natural Seawater & Eucalyptus Nasal Spray creates a pressure difference between the solution and the mucous membrane (osmotic effect), helping to reduce the swelling of the nasal passages.

    Otrivin Natural Seawater & Eucalyptus Nasal Spray also softens and loosens the excess mucus by the mechanical action of the spray on the nasal cavities helping to remove bacteria and viruses from the nose.

    * Hypertonic sea water solutions differ from isotonic sea water solutions as the sea salt concentration is optimised at 2.2% to effectively relieve nasal congestion. This concentration also ensures that the solution is gentle enough to be compatible with the nasal mucosa.

    Ingredients: sea water (hypertonic at 2.2% sea salt concentration), excipients: essential oil of Eucalyptus globulus, menthol extracted from Mentha arvensis.

    Propellant gas free.

  • How to use Otrivin Natural Seawater & Eucalyptus Nasal Spray

    Otrivin Natural Seawater & Eucalyptus Nasal Spray can be used by adults and children over 6 years of age: 2 sprays in each nostril up to 6 times a day.

    For hygienic reasons and to avoid contamination, after each use, wash the nozzle with hot water, dry it and put the protective cap back on. The spray should only be used by one person. Use by more than one person may spread infection.

    Instructions:

    1. Blow your nose. 
    2. Shake the bottle before use.
    3. Remove the protective cap of the spray.
    4. Before using for the first time, prime the pump by performing a few pumping motions until an even spray is released into the air. Be careful not to spray in the eyes or mouth.
    5. Hold the bottle upright with thumb under base and nozzle between two fingers.
    6. Lean the head forward slightly and insert the nozzle into the nostril.
    7. Spray while breathing in gently through the nose.
    8. Repeat in the other nostril.
    9. Allow the product to act for a few minutes. Do not blow the nose during this time, but wipe it if necessary.
    10. Then, blow the nose if needed.
